Non Surgical Treatments
At North Cypress, we believe that physical therapy plays an important role in the rehabilitation of those suffering with back pain and other spine problems. It can help to reduce pain, increase flexibility, build strength, and improve posture. Physical therapists use both passive and active therapies to treat spine patients. Passive therapy can include heat / cold therapy, ultrasound, electrical stimulation (E-stim), massage, and joint mobilization. Active therapies include stretching, strengthening, and other therapeutic exercises.
North Cypress Medical Center has both an Outpatient Rehabilitation Program and the North Cypress Sports Medicine Center. Both programs have world class physical therapy teams specializing in spine care to treat spine patients. Your physician will decide which program is right for you.
When referred for therapy, each patient receives a comprehensive evaluation by a licensed physical therapist. A treatment plan is implemented based on the recommendations from the referring physician and the findings of the evaluation with the therapist. The therapists provide ongoing communication with the physician regarding the therapy plan, goals, and continuing progress of the patient.
